Initial Idea for SHED Zine

Proof of concept

I’m into a spectrum of creativity from wholesome to provocative and think that it can all be very deep and interesting — depending on the artists’ brand.

I called it ‘shed’ because the way i shoot is very free — looking to set a level of comfort that brings out the vulnerability in the photos.

I also love this story of a famous band who’s singer would record her vocals naked because it made her feel more vulnerable.

So, shedding the emotional guardrails down to the person + the concept of shedding clothing felt intriguing.

Idea being — there’s plenty of empty content and not enough connection… subsequently, beauty and figurative art has been cheapened.

I hope to create a zine that brings visual makers; photogs, models, videographers to the table together to be creatively vulnerable together; capture the experience of not only the light, figure, form — but also the conversation, the person behind and in front of the camera.

Kind of like how hairdressers and tattoo artists are ‘therapists’ — let’s bring soul and mojo back to the experience of collaborative expression and design a zine with words and pictures that tell the story of people and the idea.
